Although this website may have contacts in your
area, the first person you should contact is your Rabbi or a leader
in your Jewish Community. Death and burial is an emergency and
it is appropriate to call at any time of the day or night.
Before calling anyone on our contact lists, your local Rabbi should
be your first stop even if the burial will be in another community.
Often times Rabbis can assist in making preparations while you are
unavailable (for example, if you are on an airplane) and keep things
moving.
If you are unaffiliated, our list is for you.
Even though you may not have a Rabbi, one will be able to assist you
though this difficult time. In this case, we recommend that
you select help from the area where your friend or loved one has
died.
